Animal Health Monitoring

The health of your animals matters to us. Therefore, we offer comprehensive FELASA testing packages, targeted single pathogen detection and state-of-the-art testing methods to expand our spectrum according to your needs. In addition, we work closely with the Veterinary Faculty at the University of Leipzig to be able to answer even unconventional questions.

Research

We are constantly developing new and innovative methods for you to examine your animals gently, efficiently and precisely. In the field of molecular biology, we rely on PCR and sequencing technologies such as NGS (Next Generation Sequencing).

Standards of quality

Our laboratory is certified to the standards of ISO 9001:2015. We already work according to the guidelines of ISO 17025 and plan to achieve accreditation during 2022.

FELASA packages

Regardless of whether you need an overall animal examination or an in vivo solution, our FELASA examination packages cover all examinations recommended by FELASA for laboratory animals. Each package can be individually adapted to your needs.

Single pathogen testing

We also offer the possibility to specifically test for individual pathogens. For this purpose, we have the classic examination methods ELISA, PCR, microscopy and culture at our disposal to detect viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites.

Microbiome analysis

To characterize the microbiome, we use state-of-the-art next generation sequencing technologies to identify all bacteria, viruses and fungi by shotgun sequencing at high resolution - down to sub-species level.

Pathology

Our veterinarians perform the pathological examination of your animals for you. After consultation, detected pathological changes or also submitted tissue samples can be further examined histopathologically.

Background Testing

We provide the precise genetic background of your model including the Y chromosome. Our resolution goes beyond the substrain level all the way to distinguishing individuals.

Target Genotyping

We provide genotyping results fast, reliably and cost-effectivel - ready for automated upload into the animal facility management software

Speed Congenics

We provide backcrossing support from any to any genetic background, quickly and specifically optimized for your project.

Snooplex FastPrep

Our genotyping kit enables most humane genotyping  - without the need for biopsies.
